More Aix en Provence

August 29, 2012

More pix of our visit to Aix.  These photos show more of the daily life in Aix, which means they're all about food and shopping.  Paul's had a couple of gourmet or gourmand shops, one for pastries and the other a butcher shop or deli.  There may have been others I just didn't see.  Although those two cover all the food groups I'm interested in!

Aix en Provence

August 27, 2012

In May we were in Aix, Provence a quaint city not too far from Marseilles.  I thought I would include a couple of photos.

I never tire of shutters.

 The colors are amazing!

August 25, 2012

This is my first post, so welcome. I want to thank my graphic designer, who is a magician, for incorporating all my goodies in record time. Thank you, Keri and hi to Henry and BC. Keri will be putting Monet at home on FB next week, so stay tuned. I took a few pictures of some of the items in my store, just to test my photography skills. I'll have them uploaded soon. I'm not a techy, obviously, but do have some writing experience as a freelancer with The Washington Post and a couple other weeklies in the Northern Virginia area, which was forever ago!

But, my true passion is design, which I have no experience with other than helping friends and neighbors shop for their homes. (Everyone keeps telling me not to say that!) My partner and I did open a home staging business, which quickly spun off into a design business, Vignette, and then a small shop called Monet at home. It's truly an addiction, and, an expensive one that I have to confess, I don't really want to get over. Hi, my name is's been twenty-three days since I last spent three hours in a fabric store where everyone knows me by name. I, probably as you do, love oyster linen, slipcovers, and all things painted white. Floors, walls, trim, fireplaces, picnic tables, tile. You name it. If Simply White or Dove White will adhere to it, I've slapped a coat of flat on it.

Please visit Monet at home again. I would love it if you did!
